“I believe your whole story matters: your past, your relationships, your identities, your loss, your hopes, your contradictions, your defenses, your strengths, your confusion—all of it. I want to learn as much as I can about you, because understanding the full complexity of your experience is the foundation for meaningful, sustainable change.”
Therapy style
I am a psychodynamic therapist who draws on relational psychoanalysis. In simpler terms, I am deeply interested in you—your history, your relationships, your inner world, and the patterns that have shaped your life.
Psychodynamic therapy helps us explore the deeper layers of your emotional life—your beliefs, your defenses, the experiences that shaped you even if you don’t think about them every day. We look at how past relationships influence how you feel, behave, and relate now.
Relational work adds to this by focusing on the healing power of the therapy relationship. It sees emotional problems as patterns of unresolved feelings or unmet needs, often formed early in life. By asking questions and listening closely, we can make these feelings easier to understand and change.
I work with individuals, couples, and groups, and my approach is always collaborative, paced, and attuned. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are.
With couples, I help partners notice the patterns that show up between them. We look at how each person’s inner world affects the relationship. Together, we explore communication, attachment, and unspoken conflicts that may keep you stuck in the same arguments. The goal is to build clearer understanding, better emotional connection, and more supportive ways of relating.
In individual therapy, we pay attention to what you feel in the moment and how you experience our relationship. We explore repeating emotional patterns and what they might be trying to tell you. This work creates space for new, healthier ways of relating to yourself and to others.
I also recognize that culture, race, identity, and larger social systems shape how we see ourselves and how we feel. I strive to create a therapy space where every part of your identity and experience can be safely explored and understood.
If you would like to learn more about what our work together might look like, I offer a low pressure 15-20 minute consultation where you can ask me any questions you have and you can get a sense of what it feels like to sit with me. We can do that by phone, zoom, or in-person. I look forward to hearing from you.
